Both certifications are completed over two to three days, with Nitrox theory often done on the first day before the early-morning shark dives begin.

Course Overview
The package covers two courses:
PADI Enriched Air Nitrox
Theory covering what Nitrox is, how it works, oxygen exposure limits, and how to analyse a Nitrox cylinder before each dive. Completed quickly — often in a single session — so it doesn’t eat into shark dive time.
Thresher Shark Diver Specialty
Shark biology, cleaning station behaviour, responsible dive etiquette at Monad Shoal, and the conservation context behind protecting this population. Four dedicated early-morning dives at the cleaning station.
Specialty Dives Using Nitrox
All four Thresher Shark Diver specialty dives are conducted using Nitrox, giving you extended no-decompression time at 20–30m — more bottom time, less worry about computer limits during the shark encounter.
Study Materials
Both courses use their respective PADI manuals — Enriched Air Diver and Thresher Shark Diver. Both are included in the package price.
The Nitrox eLearning component can be completed before you arrive to save time on the island.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites
PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) required. Minimum age is 10. Advanced Open Water is recommended given Monad Shoal dive depths (up to 30m). No prior specialty certifications are required.

Our instructors will brief you on shark behaviour and etiquette before every dive at Monad Shoal. Thresher shark sightings are frequent but never guaranteed — this is wild marine life on its own schedule.
Deep Adventure Upgrade
If you want to see the sharks at greater depth, ask about adding the Thresher Shark Deep Adventure Dive to this package — a single dive to 35–40m for an even closer look at the cleaning station.
The deep adventure dive can be added on a morning when conditions allow.
Combine Courses
